Unions push U.S. regulators to probe driverless cars following GM's Cruise incident
November 9, 2023 2:39 PM ESTOver two dozen unions, such as the Transportation Trades Department, Transport Workers Union of America, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and United Auto Workers, called on U.S. auto safety regulators Thursday to initiate an extensive investigation into autonomous vehicles.
Their request comes in light of the ongoing scrutiny of General Motors' (NYSE: GM) autonomous Cruise unit and California's temporary halt of Cruise's testing activities.
