Royal Caribbean raises profit forecast buoyed by travel boom, higher prices

(Reuters) - Royal Caribbean Group raised its annual profit forecast after upbeat quarterly results on Thursday, cruising on the back of higher ticket prices and pent-up leisure travel demand, sending shares up nearly 8%.
The Miami, Florida-based company also projected current-quarter earnings well above Wall Street estimates and said bookings outpaced 2019 levels by "a very wide margin" throughout the first quarter and into April.

May 4, 2023 8:00 AM EDTRoyal Caribbean (NYSE: RCL) reported Q1 EPS of ($0.23), $0.46 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.69). Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.89 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.82 billion.
