The UK Competition and Markets Authority on Wednesday moved to block Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) acquisition of Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ: ATVI), dealing a blow to the US tech giant, although it said it plans to appeal the decision.
ATVI shares are down more than 8% following the news, while Microsoft is up over 6%.

Evercore ISI analyst Kirk Materne reiterated an Outperform rating and $337.00 price target on Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT).
The analyst comments "In a somewhat surprising move after a lot of back/forth between the two parties, the CMA denied Microsofts acquisition of Activision based on concerns about the downstream implications on the cloud gaming market.
