Investing.com -- U.S. stocks are seen opening lower Wednesday amid concerns about a future economic slowdown, while disappointing earnings from EV giant Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) weighed.


At 06:30 ET (10:30 GMT), the Dow futures contract was down 165 points, or 0.5%, S&P 500 futures traded 30 points, or 0.7% lower, and Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 140 points, or 1.1%.

AT&T's dismal cash flow sparks selloff in telecoms sector

(Reuters) -U.S. wireless carrier AT&T Inc missed market estimates for first-quarter revenue and free cash flow, underscoring the toll from strained consumer wallets and sparking a selloff in the telecoms sector on Thursday.

Following the dour results, shares of AT&T were on track for their worst day in nine months after a 7% slump while Verizon Communications Inc and T-Mobile US Inc lost between 2% and 3%.

AT&T (NYSE: T) reported Q1 EPS of $0.60, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.58. Revenue for the quarter came in at $30.1 billion versus the consensus estimate of $30.24 billion.
