California Asks EV Owners to Limit Charging as Heat Wave Tests Power Grid
September 2, 2022 2:52 PM EDTJust a week after approving a plan to ban the sale of new gasoline cars, California asked electric vehicle owners this week to limit when they plugged in to charge.
The California Independent System Operator, which manages the states power grid, sent a Flex Alert asking all residents to voluntarily reduce their electricity use between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and warned that more alerts were possible through the Labor Day weekend.

Ford is Americas best-selling brand for the second month in a row. While sales for the overall industry were up 4.8 percent over a year ago, Ford grew at a faster pace of 27.3 percent for the month. Ford total market share increased 2.4 percentage points from August of last year to its current level of 13.4 percent for the month.
