(the Company) (NASDAQ: TOPS), an international owner and operator of modern, fuel efficient "ECO" tanker vessels, announced today that it has entered into a securities purchase agreement with a single institutional investor to purchase approximately $7.2 million of its common shares (or pre-funded warrants in lieu thereof) in a registered direct offering and warrants to purchase common shares in a concurrent private placement.
