Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) shares are up 2% in pre-open Monday after the company announced a deal to buy Arena Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ARNA) in a $6.7 billion deal.

Pfizer will pay $100 per share in an all-cash transaction, which is a 100% premium compared to Fridays closing price of $49.94 per share.
