Shares of McDonalds (NYSE: MCD) are up about 3% in todays trading session after the fast-food chain delivered better-than-expected results for its third quarter.

McDonald's reported Q3 EPS of $2.76 to top the analyst estimate of $2.46. Revenue for the quarter came in at $6.2 billion versus the consensus estimate of $6.03 billion. Comparable sales soared 12.7% globally, or 10.2% on a 2-year basis.
