Celanese Corporation Reports First Quarter 2021 Earnings; Raises Full Year Financial Outlook
April 22, 2021 4:25 PM EDTDALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE), a global chemical and specialty materials company, today reported first quarter GAAP diluted earnings per share of $2.83 and adjusted earnings per share of $3.46. Net sales for the quarter were $1.8 billion as pricing increased by 15 percent from the prior quarter, more than offsetting a volume decline of 3 percent. In anticipation of Winter Storm Uri, the Company proactively brought down its three production facilities in Texas to protect its employees and assets.
