Splunk (SPLK) Crashes 21% On Weak FQ3 Results, Prompting At Least 5 Downgrades
December 3, 2020 8:27 AM ESTShares of Splunk (NASDAQ: SPLK) are down 22% in pre-open trading Thursday after the company posted disappointing results for its fiscal third quarter.
The data analytics software firm posted an adjusted loss of $0.07 per share on revenue of $559 million to miss expectations of earnings of $0.09 on revenue of $613 million. Compared to a year ago, revenue fell 11%.
As for the next quarter, Splunk said it expects to generate $650 million to $700 million in revenue, again below the expected $777 million.
