Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Reports Second Quarter Earnings Per Share of $.34
July 21, 2020 6:00 AM EDTKANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Â (NASDAQ: CBSH) announced earnings of $.34 per common share for the three months ended June 30, 2020, compared to $.91 per share in the same quarter last year and $.44 per share in the prior quarter. Net income attributable to Commerce Bancshares, Inc. for the second quarter of 2020 amounted to $39.9 million, compared to $108.0 million in the second quarter of 2019 and $51.9 million in the prior quarter. For the quarter, the return on average assets was .54%, the return on average common equity was 4.77% and the efficiency ratio was 58.1%.
