Universal Corporation Reports Annual Results

Freeman, III, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Corporation (NYSE: UVV), reported net income for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2020, of $71.7 million, or $2.86 per diluted share, compared with $104.1 million, or $4.11 per diluted share, for the prior fiscal year. Excluding restructuring and impairment costs and certain non-recurring items, detailed in Other Items below, net income and diluted earnings per share declined by $25.3 million and $0.96, respectively, for fiscal year 2020, compared to fiscal year 2019.
