Landstar System (LSTR) Misses Q4 EPS by 15c; OffersQ1 EPS Guidance Below Consensus
January 29, 2020 4:21 PM ESTLandstar System (NASDAQ: LSTR) reported Q4 EPS of $1.27, $0.15 worse than the analyst estimate of $1.42. Revenue for the quarter came in at $994.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $995.05 million.
As expected, the macroeconomic environment during the 2019 fourth quarter made for challenging comparisons against our record 2018 fourth quarter performance, said Landstar President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Gattoni. Soft demand, driven by slowing production in the U.S. manufacturing sector, and more readily available truck capacity drove Landstars truck rates and volumes below prior year levels in the 2019 fourth quarter.
