Refiner Nynas to suspend imports of Venezuelan oil due to sanctions

(Reuters) - European refiner Nynas AB will suspend imports of Venezuelan crude following changes to a license allowing it to operate under U.S. sanctions, the company said on Monday, adding it was looking to shift to alternative sources of oil.
Nynas, owned by Venezuela's state-run PDVSA and Finland's Neste Oil (OTCBB: NESTE), operates specialty refineries in Sweden, Germany and England mostly for asphalt production.

U.S. oil major Chevron says hopeful about maintaining Venezuela presence

(Reuters) - U.S. oil major Chevron Corp (NYSE: CVX) said late on Friday it is optimistic about maintaining a presence in Venezuela even amid U.S. sanctions on the country and state oil company PDVSA as part of Washington's effort to oust President Nicolas Maduro.
The company's remarks follow an earlier report by Bloomberg that said the United States is considering extending Chevron's waiver to operate in Venezuela with more limitations by granting the company a 90-day sanctions... More
