Build-A-Bear Workshop (BBW) Misses Q2 EPS by 7c, Revenues Miss; Provides FY19 Business Outlook, Reports New Relationship with Sony Pictures

Build-A-Bear Workshop (NYSE: BBW) reported Q2 EPS of ($0.08), $0.07 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.01). Revenue for the quarter came in at $79.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $86.8 million.

Total revenues were $79.2 million compared to $83.2 million in the fiscal 2018 second quarter;Retail gross margin expanded to 44.1%, a 160-basis point improvement compared to the fiscal 2018 second quarter;Selling, general and administrative expenses (SG&A) were $35.7 million, or 45.1% of total revenues, a $2.2 million improvement compared to the fiscal 2018 second quarter; andPre-tax loss improved by $1.8 million to $0.7 million and included the impact of unfavorable...
