Kemper Reports Strong First Quarter 2019 Operating Results
April 29, 2019 6:15 AM EDTCHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Kemper Corporation (NYSE: KMPR) reported net income of $155.3 million, or $2.35 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2019, compared to $53.8 million, or $1.02 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2018. In the first quarter of 2019, net income included a $50.9 million after-tax gain, or $0.77 per diluted share, attributable to the change in fair value of equity and convertible securities.
