Colgate Announces 1st Quarter 2019 Results
April 26, 2019 6:55 AM EDTNEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE: CL) today reported worldwide Net sales of $3,884 million in first quarter 2019, a decrease of 3.0% versus first quarter 2018. Global unit volume increased 1.0%, pricing increased 2.0% and foreign exchange was negative 6.0%. Organic sales (Net sales excluding the impact of foreign exchange, acquisitions and divestments) increased 3.0%.
Net income and Diluted earnings per share in first quarter 2019 were $560 million and $0.65, respectively. Net income in first quarter 2019 included $22 million ($0.02 per diluted share) of aftertax charges resulting from the Companys Global Growth and Efficiency Program.
