Aflac Incorporated Announces First Quarter Results, Reports First Quarter Net Earnings of $928 Million, Affirms 2019 Adjusted EPS Outlook, Declares Second Quarter Cash Dividend
April 25, 2019 4:21 PM EDTCOLUMBUS, Ga., April 25, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac Incorporated (NYSE: AFL) today reported its first quarter results.
Total revenues were $5.7 billion during the first quarter of 2019, compared with $5.5 billion in the first quarter of 2018. Net earnings were $928 million, or $1.23 per diluted share, compared with $717 million, or $.91 per diluted share a year ago.
Net earnings in the first quarter of 2019 included pretax net realized investment gains of $103 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, compared with pretax net losses of $98 million, or $0.13 per diluted share a year ago. Included in those net gains... More
