Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Reports First Quarter Earnings Per Share of $.85
April 11, 2019 6:00 AM EDTKANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Commerce Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBSH) announced earnings of $.85 per common share for the three months ended March 31, 2019, compared to $.88 per share in the same quarter last year and $.96 per share in the fourth quarter of 2018. Net income attributable to Commerce Bancshares, Inc. for the first quarter of 2019 amounted to $97.1 million, compared to $101.0 million in the first quarter of 2018 and $109.7 million in the prior quarter. For the current quarter, the return on average assets was 1.58%, the return on average common equity was 13.6% and the efficiency ratio was 58.8%.
