Encore Wire Reports Fourth Quarter Results
February 19, 2019 4:05 PM ESTMCKINNEY, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Encore Wire Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select: WIRE) today announced results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2018.
Net sales for the fourth quarter of 2018 were $319.7 million compared to $301.3 million during the fourth quarter of 2017. Unit volume, measured in copper pounds contained in the wire sold, increased 10.5%, and the average selling price per copper pound sold decreased 3.7% in the fourth quarter of 2018 versus the same period in 2017. Sales prices in the fourth quarter of 2018 decreased primarily due to lower copper prices, which decreased 9.0% versus the fourth quarter... More
