Carrefour confident over overhaul despite fourth-quarter 'yellow vests' hit

PARIS (Reuters) - Carrefour (OTC: CARR) said on Tuesday it was confident its overhaul plan was on track, although sales growth slowed slightly in the fourth quarter as 10 weeks of anti-government protests hit hypermarket sales in its core French market.
Elsewhere in Europe, Spain and Italy remained tough spots amid competitive pressures and challenging economic conditions but Brazil continued to improve.

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Shares in India's Reliance Industries (OTC: RELI) rose on Friday, following record quarterly numbers that showed the conglomerate's strategy to diversify beyond refining and petrochemicals was bearing fruit.
The company's gross refining margins - a measure of its core profitability - took a hit amid volatility in oil prices and slowing demand globally, but its fast-growing telecom and retail businesses drove profit to new highs.
