November 1, 2018 4:15 PM EDTNEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) today announced its results for the third quarter ended September30, 2018.
Third Quarter Results Summary
Net income of $880million, or $0.88 per share, compared to a loss of $97 million, or a loss of $0.09 per share, in the third quarter of 2017. The loss in the prior-year period was primarily due to the separation of Brighthouse Financial, Inc. and its subsidiaries. Adjusted earnings* of $1.4billion, or $1.38 per share, compared to adjusted earnings of $1.1 billion, or $1.04 per share in the third quarter of 2017.... More
