Stage Stores Reports Second Quarter Results and Updates Guidance
August 23, 2018 6:30 AM EDTHOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Stage Stores, Inc. (NYSE: SSI) today reported results for the second quarter ended August 4, 2018, and updated guidance for fiscal year 2018. For the second quarter, comparable sales decreased 0.2%. Loss before income tax was $16.8 million compared to a loss before income tax of $9.6 million in the second quarter 2017, driven by investments in the growth of the off-price business, additional supply chain costs, and increased promotional markdowns.
Our comparable sales results for the second quarter reflected a sequential improvement of 260 basis points versus the first quarter, commented Michael Glazer, President and Chief Executive Officer.... More
