Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of $2.65, up 6.9% Net earnings of $799 million, up 4.7% Return on sales of 10.6% 1.3% revenue growth with particular strength in our defense businessesGeneral Dynamics (NYSE: GD) today reported first-quarter 2018 net earnings of $799 million, a 4.7 percent increase over first-quarter 2017, on revenue of $7.5 billion. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations were $2.65 compared to $2.48 in the year-ago quarter, a 6.9 percent increase.
