RLI Reports Fourth Quarter and Year-End 2017 Results
January 24, 2018 4:05 PM ESTPEORIA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- RLI Corp. (NYSE: RLI) RLI Corp. reported fourth quarter 2017 net earnings of $57.3 million ($1.29 per share), compared to $32.2 million ($0.72 per share) for the fourth quarter of 2016. For the year ended December 31, 2017, net earnings were $105.0 million ($2.36 per share), compared to $114.9 million ($2.59 per share) for the 2016 fiscal year. Operating earnings(1) for the fourth quarter of 2017 were $53.9 million ($1.21 per share) compared to $24.9 million ($0.56 per share) for the same period in 2016. For the year ended December 31, 2017, operating earnings were $102.2 million ($2.30 per share) compared to $92.4 million ($2.08 per share) for the 2016 fiscal year.
