BEIJING (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron said a contract with China for 184 Airbus (NYSE: AIR) A320 narrow-body jets would be finalized soon and that his country also had ambitions to sell A350 and A380 planes to China in coming weeks or months.
The potential A320 order, which had not been previously announced, would be worth more than $18 billion at list prices.

Storch, 65, announced today his plan to retire as CEO after 39 years with the Company effective May 31, 2018. AAR President and Chief Operating Officer John M. Boeing set to top Airbus with record 763 jets in 2017

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) said on Tuesday it delivered an industry-record 763 jetliners in 2017, likely beating European rival Airbus SE (NYSE: AIR) to retain the title of world's biggest plane maker.
Boeing also booked 912 net new aircraft orders worth $134.8 billion at list prices last year, compared with 668 worth about $94 billion in 2016.
Airbus was on track last month to rack up more than 1,000 gross new orders for the year, excluding cancellations, compared with the 1,053 gross orders Boeing announced on Tuesday.

Airbus to boost China output as nears jet deal during Macron trip

PARIS (Reuters) - Airbus (NYSE: AIR) is set to boost production of narrowbody jets in China as it nears a new multi-billion-dollar deal to supply the world's fastest-growing aviation market during a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron, industry sources said.
The deal is expected to be unveiled together with a package of agreements coinciding with the French leader's visit, and could include orders for around 100 jetliners, they added.
