Westar Energy announces 2nd quarter 2017 results
August 8, 2017 5:00 PM EDTTOPEKA, Kan., Aug. 08, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Westar Energy, Inc. (NYSE: WR) today announced earnings of $72Â million, or $0.50 per share, for the second quarter 2017 compared with earnings of $72 million, or $0.51Â per share, for the second quarter 2016. Earnings for the six months ended June 30, 2017 were $132 million, or $0.92 per share, compared with $138 million, or $0.97 per share, for the same period in 2016.
