HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (Reuters) - Sears Holdings Corp (NASDAQ: SHLD) Chief Executive Officer Edward Lampert blasted the media on Wednesday for "unfairly singling out" the company over the past decade and blamed "irresponsible" coverage for the retailer's woes.
Sears, once the largest U.S. retailer, warned investors in March there was a chance it may not be able to continue as a going concern after years of losses and declining sales.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union's executive is planning a possible law to deal with complaints about unfair trading practices by leading online players such as Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL).

Nvidia's data center business powers revenue beat

(Reuters) - Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ: NVDA) reported a better-than-expected 48.4 percent jump in quarterly revenue, helped by strong demand for its chips that are used by major cloud computing providers in data centers.
Nvidia's shares jumped 14.2 percent to $117.57 after the bell.
Data center revenue more than doubled in the first quarter to $409 million, handily beating analysts' estimates of $318.2 million, according to FactSet.

Office Depot profit beats as fewer stores help tighten costs
May 9, 2017 7:07 AM EDT(Reuters) - Office supply chain Office Depot Inc (NASDAQ: ODP) reported a bigger-than-expected quarterly profit as expenses fell, in part due to a lower store count, sending the retailer's shares up as much as 7 percent on Tuesday.
Following its failed merger with Staples Inc (NASDAQ: SPLS) in May last year, Office Depot has been streamlining its business by shutting underperforming stores and cutting procurement and overhead costs.
