The New York Times Company Reports 2017 First-Quarter Results
May 3, 2017 8:30 AM EDTNEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT) announced today first-quarter 2017 diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of $.08 compared with diluted loss per share of $.05 in the same period of 2016. Adjusted diluted earnings per share from continuing operations (defined below) were $.11 in the first quarter of 2017 compared with $.10 in the first quarter of 2016.
Operating profit rose to $29.0 million in the first quarter of 2017 compared to $27.9 million in the same period of 2016, with higher costs more than offset by a growth in overall revenue, principally driven by very strong digital revenues.... More
