Aetna Reports First-Quarter 2017 Results
May 2, 2017 6:00 AM EDTHARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Aetna (NYSE: AET) announced a first-quarter 2017 net loss(1) of $381 million, or $1.11 per share, and adjusted earnings(2) of $939 million, or $2.71 per share. Aetna's first-quarter 2017 results reflect a strong start to the year despite costs associated with the termination of the Humana Merger Agreement, which was the primary driver of the first-quarter 2017 net loss.
