Southern Company reports fourth-quarter and full-year 2016 earnings
February 22, 2017 6:45 AM ESTATLANTA, Feb. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Company today reported fourth-quarter 2016 earnings of $197 million, or 20 cents per share, compared with earnings of $271 million, or 30 cents per share, in the fourth quarter of 2015. Southern Company also reported full year 2016 earnings of $2.45 billion, or $2.57 per share, compared with earnings of $2.37 billion, or $2.60 per share, for the same period in 2015.
Excluding the items described in the "Net Income Excluding Items" table below, Southern Company earned $235 million, or 24 cents per share, during the fourth quarter of 2016, compared with $403 million, or 44 cents... More
