Lowe's Cos. (LOW) Misses Q3 EPS by 8c; Trims FY17 Outlook
November 16, 2016 6:10 AM ESTLowe's Cos. (NYSE: LOW) reported Q3 EPS of $0.88, $0.08 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.96. Revenue for the quarter came in at $15.7 billion versus the consensus estimate of $15.86 billion.
Comparable sales increased 2.7 percent. The Street was looking for a 3.2 percent increase.

(Reuters) - Home Depot Inc (NYSE: HD), the No. 1 U.S. home improvement chain, did not lift its full-year sales forecast, implying a weaker-than-expected fourth quarter amid an improving housing market and higher consumer spending in the United States.
The company also raised its full-year earnings forecast only to account for lower tax provisions and outstanding share count.
Home Depot shares fell as much as 3 percent on Tuesday morning, reversing course from premarket when they gained after the company reported third-quarter profit and sales that beat analysts' estimates.
