Hasbro beats estimates on strong demand for Disney Princess dolls

(Reuters) - Hasbro Inc (NASDAQ: HAS) reported higher-than-expected quarterly profit and revenue, driven by strong demand for Disney Princess and Frozen dolls and action figures based on "Star Wars" movies.
However, the toymaker's shares fell as much as 7.6 percent in noon trading on Monday, which analysts attributed to factors such as slowing sales of toys targeted at boys, inflated Street expectations and a near 30 percent runup in the stock this year.

July 18, 2016 6:30 AM EDTHasbro (NASDAQ: HAS) reported Q2 EPS of $0.41, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.39. Revenue for the quarter came in at $878.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $858.97 million.
