(Reuters) - U.S. data analytics firm Qlik Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: QLIK) agreed to sell itself to private equity firm Thoma Bravo LLC for about $3 billion, the latest company to bow to pressure from activist hedge fund Elliott Management Corp.
Qlik's shares were up 4 percent at $30.13 in midday trading on Thursday, slightly below the offer price of $30.50 per share.
The shares had risen 20 percent through Wednesday's close since Elliott urged a sale in early March.

Thoma Bravo to Acquire Qlik Tech (QLIK) in $3B Deal
June 2, 2016 8:32 AM EDTQlik (NASDAQ: QLIK) entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by leading private equity investment firm Thoma Bravo, LLC in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $3.0 billion. The agreement was unanimously approved by Qliks board of directors.
Under the terms of the agreement, Qlik shareholders will receive $30.50 in cash for each share of Qlik common stock they hold. This price represents a premium of 40% to the Companys unaffected 10 day average stock price prior to March 3, 2016 of $21.83.1
