Cato Reports 1Q EPS 16%
May 19, 2016 7:00 AM EDTCHARLOTTE, N.C., May 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cato Corporation (NYSE: CATO) today reported net income of $35.9 million or $1.29 per diluted share for the first quarter ended April 30, 2016, compared to net income of $31.1 million or $1.11 per diluted share for the first quarter ended May 2, 2015. Net income increased 15% and earnings per diluted share increased 16% for the quarter. Sales for the first quarter were $285.5 million, or an increase of 1% from sales of $281.6 million for the first quarter ended May 2, 2015.  The Company's same-store sales for the quarter were flat to last year.
