Tesla's (TSLA) Price Target Raised to $290 at Deutsche Bank; 'Hold' Rating Maintianed
May 5, 2016 1:12 PM EDTDeutsche Bank maintained a Hold rating on Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) but boosted its price target to $290.00 (from $280.00). The change follows the release of Q1 results. Analyst Rod Lache called Q1 results "a bit light" but he noted that the most important development was the company's steepened growth plan.

(Reuters) - Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) said it was stepping up production plans for its upcoming Model 3 mass-market sedan and would build a total of 500,000 all-electric vehicles in 2018, two years ahead of schedule, but warned that spending will ramp up in tandem.

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) reported Q1 EPS of ($0.57), $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.60). Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.6 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.6 billion.
In Q1, we reached a new quarterly production record of 15,510 vehicles, up 10% from Q4. Q1 Model S production of 12,851 vehicles met plan, but Model X production of 2,659 vehicles was insufficient to meet our projected level of deliveries.
