Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU):
After-tax adjusted operating income of $997 million, or $2.18 per Common share, compared to $2.79 per Common share for year-ago quarter.- Current quarter adjusted operating income includes a pre-tax charge of $53 million in Individual Annuities to reflect the impact of market performance on deferred policy acquisition and other costs and reserves for guaranteed death and income benefits, with an unfavorable impact of approximately 8 cents per Common share.
