Universal Truckload Services, Inc. Reports First Quarter 2016 Financial Results
April 28, 2016 10:03 AM EDTWARREN, Mich., April 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Truckload Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: UACL) today reported first quarter 2016 net income of $7.5 million, or $0.26 per basic and diluted share, on total operating revenues of $260.4 million. This compares to $8.2 million, or $0.27 per basic and diluted share, during the first quarter of 2015 on total operating revenues of $263.6 million.
Operating revenues from our transportation services decreased $10.5 million, or 6.5%, to $149.9 million in the quarter ended April 2, 2016. The decline included an $8.4 million decrease in fuel surcharges, and a 6.7% decrease in average operating revenues per load, excluding fuel surcharges.
