Anthem Reports First Quarter 2016 Results
April 27, 2016 6:00 AM EDTNet income was $2.63 per share, including net negative adjustment items of $0.83 per share. Adjusted net income was $3.46 per share (refer to the GAAP reconciliation table). Medical enrollment increased sequentially by 1.0 million members, or 2.6 percent, totaling approximately 39.6 million members as of March 31, 2016. Company now expects medical enrollment to grow by 700 - 900 thousand members for full year 2016. Full year 2016 GAAP net income is expected to be greater than $9.65 per share.
