CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Northern Trust Corporation today reported fourth quarter net income per diluted common share of $0.99, up from $0.98 in the fourth quarter of 2014 and $0.96 in the third quarter of 2015. Net income was $239.3 million, compared to $244.0 million in the prior-year quarter and $234.6 million in the prior quarter. Return on average common equity was 11.1%, compared to 11.5% in the prior-year quarter and 10.9% in the prior quarter.
