(Reuters) - LinkedIn Corp's (NYSE: LNKD) quarterly revenue and profit handily beat analysts' estimates as the world's biggest professional networking website operator earned more from its recruitment services business and from advertisements and paid memberships.

(Reuters) - U.S. stocks ended slightly lower on Thursday as the market digested disappointing tech earnings reports and the potential for an interest rate hike in December.
