Peabody Energy (BTU) Tops Q3 EPS by 25c
October 27, 2015 7:01 AM EDTPeabody Energy (NYSE: BTU) reported Q3 EPS of ($8.13), $0.25 better than the analyst estimate of ($8.38). Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.42 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.4 billion.
GLOBAL COAL MARKETS
The broader commodity sector declined in the third quarter on concerns over slowing global growth and economic weakness in China. This resulted in a reduction in global coal demand that more than offset recent supply reductions and pressured seaborne coal prices.
