CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Northern Trust Corporation today reported third quarter net income per diluted common share of $0.96, compared to $0.84 in the third quarter of 2014 and $1.10 in the second quarter of 2015. Net income was $234.6 million, compared to $204.5 million in the prior-year quarter and $269.2 million in the prior quarter. Return on average common equity was 10.9%, compared to 10.1% in the prior-year quarter and 12.8% in the prior quarter.
