Nomura Securities Cuts Price Target on Oracle (ORCL) Following 1c EPS Beat

(Reuters) - Oracle Corp's (NYSE: ORCL) sales fell more than expected in the first quarter, hurt by a strong dollar and a continued drop in licensed software sales and the company warned revenue could fall in the current quarter even on a constant currency basis.

Oracle (ORCL) Tops Q1 EPS by 1c, Revenue Falls Short

Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) reported Q1 EPS of $0.53, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.52. Revenue for the quarter came in at $8.45 billion versus the consensus estimate of $8.53 billion.

The strengthening of the U.S. dollar compared to foreign currencies had a significant impact on results in the quarter. Total Revenues were$8.4 billion, down 2% in U.S. dollars but up 7% in constant currency.
