UPDATE: S&P Moves Outlook on TECO Energy (TE) to Negative; Ratings Affirmed

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services today affirmed its ratings on TECO Energy Inc. (NYSE: TE) and subsidiaries Tampa Electric Co. and New Mexico Gas Co. Inc., including the 'BBB+' issuer credit ratings. At the same time, we revised the rating outlook to negative from developing.
We also affirmed our 'BBB' rating on TECO's senior unsecured debt and 'BBB+' ratings on Tampa Electric and New Mexico Gas' senior unsecured debt. The short-term rating on Tampa Electric is unchanged at 'A-2'.
