Stage Stores Reports Second Quarter Results and Announces a Strategic Store Closure Plan
August 20, 2015 6:00 AM EDTHOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Stage Stores, Inc. (NYSE: SSI) today reported financial results for the second quarter ended August 1, 2015. Sales increased 0.9% and comparable sales increased 0.8%. On an adjusted basis, net income was $7.0 million, or $0.22 per diluted share compared to $0.35 per diluted share in the prior year.
While we delivered a positive comp, second quarter earnings fell short of our expectation, said Michael Glazer, President and Chief Executive Officer.
