KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Great Plains Energy Incorporated (NYSE: GXP) and Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L) today announced the acceptance of resignation from Jim Shay, senior vice presidentfinance and chief financial officer. His resignation is effective September 2, 2015. Shay will be assuming the position of chief financial officer for Hallmark Cards, Inc. Shay joined Great Plains Energy and KCP&L in July 2010.

Great Plains Energy Reports Second Quarter 2015 Results
August 6, 2015 5:06 PM EDTKANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Great Plains Energy (NYSE: GXP) today announced second quarter 2015 earnings of $44.0 million or $0.28 per share of average common stock outstanding, compared with second quarter 2014 earnings of $51.7 million or $0.34 per share. For the first six months of 2015, earnings were $62.5 million or $0.40 per share, compared to $75.1 million or $0.49 per share in the first six months of 2014. The Company is also reaffirming its 2015 earnings guidance range of $1.35 to $1.60 per share.
