VOORHEES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE: AWK) announced today that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend payment of $0.34 per share of common stock, payable on Sept. 1, 2015 to all shareholders of record as of Aug. 10, 2015.

California American Water to Purchase the Operating Assets of Meadowbrook Water Company of Merced
July 22, 2015 5:52 PM EDTCORONADO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- California American Water has signed a contract to acquire the Meadowbrook Water Company and assume domestic water services within Meadowbrooks service area.
Meadowbrook, based in Merced County, is an investor-owned utility regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission. The purchase of the systems will add approximately 1,650 water service connections to California American Water's customer base in Californias Central Valley.
