CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Northern Trust Corporation (Nasdaq: NTRS), holding company of The Northern Trust Company, has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.36 per share on its common stock ($1.66-2/3 par value), payable on October 1, 2015, to stockholders of record on September 4, 2015.

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Northern Trust Corporation today reported second quarter net income per diluted common share of $1.10, compared to $0.75 in the second quarter of 2014 and $0.94 in the first quarter of 2015. Net income was $269.2 million, compared to $181.9 million in the prior-year quarter and $230.7 million in the prior quarter. Return on average common equity was 12.8%, compared to 9.2% in the prior-year quarter and 11.3% in the prior quarter.
