Barnes & Noble (BKS) Tops Q4 EPS by 2c; NOOK Sales Fell 40%
June 25, 2015 8:31 AM EDTBarnes & Noble (NYSE: BKS) reported Q4 EPS of ($0.37), $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.39). Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.2 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.18 billion.
Retail
The Retail segment, which includes Barnes & Noble Bookstores and BN.com, had revenues of $869 million for the quarter and $4.1 billion for the full year, decreasing 9.0% and 4.4%, respectively. The inclusion of the 53rd week contributed $57 million in additional sales in fiscal 2014, representing a majority of the sales decline for the quarter. Comparable store sales declined 1.3% during the quarter and 1.9% for the full year.... More
